Our Wedding

On May 3, 2014 Jamie and I were married on the most perfect day under the Charleston oaks! I have recapped our wedding planning and celebration in the posts below! You can also find all of my posts here.

After almost four years of dating, we were engaged at the NC State Arboretum on August 11, 2013. Read more about how we met and the proposal.

I love Charleston! Read more about how we chose our venue. Here is the inspiration board that I created to guide our wedding aesthetic.

As a wedding photographer myself, this was the most important aspect of our wedding day. Read more about how we chose our photographers & videographers and a post about more wedding photography advice.

My dear friend, Becca with Rebecca Rose Creative did an amazing job creating our wedding logo, save the dates, and invitation suite.

Here’s a post about my dress, one about Jamie’s attire, and about my bridesmaids’ attire.

Planning our catering and florals from long distance was tough, but I’m so thankful for the amazing team of vendors that we chose to help us along the way!

Celebrating marriage was one of my favorite parts of being engaged! I had an awesome bachelorette weekend with all of my favorite women at Lake Gaston.

We decided to register for fine china and shared about our wedding registry process.

We had our wedding rehearsal in the morning, a bridesmaid luncheon in the afternoon and our rehearsal dinner in charming, downtown Charleston.

I spent the morning of our wedding at a rental house in Isle of Palms with all of my bridesmaids.

Jamie and I chose not to see each other before our ceremony. Instead we talked and prayed around a door. It was one of my favorite moments of the day!

Our ceremony was on the most important parts of our wedding day. We were married by our good friend and my Young Life Leader, Courtney Lancaster, and it was important to us that she speak about us personally, our story and our hearts. We had a guestbook that we still use today, and that will hopefully stand as a family heirloom.

While we were taking pictures, our guests were moved to the front of our venue for cocktail hour. After we were finished with pictures, our guests were invited to move through the house in a receiving line where we were able to quickly hug and speak to each of our guests.

Our guests dinned al fresco and Jamie and I had a private dinner on the dock. Here is a full post about our reception. At the end of the night, we made a final exit! After spending one day in Charleston, we were on our way to Antiqua for our honeymoon!

We are so grateful that our wedding was included in Southern Wedding Magazine Volume 7! You can purchase the magazine here or see the blogpost here!
