Inspiration Board No. 2: Thanksgiving

November 26, 2014

I have already been reminded many times that it’s Thanksgiving week. “Hey babe” Jamie will say, “You know what I’m excited about? That it’s Thanksgiving week!!” I love his enthusiasm for the simple things in life. We love thanksgiving. For us, that means gathering with family, meaningful conversations, lots of laughter and a cornucopia of tasty food. Although this will be our first official holiday as a married couple, Jamie and I have been attending each other’s holiday celebrations for a couple years now. We are truly blessed to have both of our families here in Raleigh, which means we get to eat two meals and spend time with both of our loved ones on Thursday – brunch with the Davis Family and Dinner with the Pitts family.

Although I tend to lean towards cooler colors, I can’t get enough of all of the warm tones that Thanksgiving brings – savory turkey, warm fruit often hidden under a crispy crust and sweet potatoes that melt in your mouth. There are so many things that I have to be thankful for this year but the most important includes my husband and family who fill my heart to the brim. So here’s to eating too much, laughing too hard and creating many meaningful memories! Happy Thanksgiving!

Inspiration Board No. 1 : Call Me Callie

November 19, 2014

Today, I’m excited to share with you my inspiration for creating the design and logo for Call Me Callie. While I knew I wanted an easy and simple template with clean lines, I still wasn’t exactly sure what color palette I was envisioning, so I created a Pinterest board and began compiling images that grabbed my attention. After looking over everything, I noticed that what my images had in common were neutral and cool colors with gold accents. You can know for sure what your personal style is when your wedding, home and blog all have the same design. I should have known!

After much research, I decided to purchase a Blogzilla template and had the amazing Juliet Lapham create a custom logo! I could not be more happy with the way that it all came together!
