Inspiration Board No. 7: Christmas Home Decor

December 21, 2016

This is the first married year that Jamie and I have spent Christmas in Raleigh at our home. Traveling over the holidays the past couple of years has been fun, but to be honest I am SO excited to be at home. We’ve never had a real Christmas tree or really decorated our house, as we haven’t seen much of a point since we would be gone, but this year is a different story. I’ll be sharing a mini home tour of our Christmas decor, but first I wanted to share with you some of my inspiration for our decor! 2016christmasdecor Style Me Pretty | The Every Girl | West Elm | Lulu & Georgia | Unknown

We are leaving for Italy in 12 days and it seems too good to be true! When I traveled to Italy last summer, I focused on packing light, comfortable, and basic clothing because we knew it would be hot and we would be moving a lot. This time, our trip is focused more on experiencing the Italian culture and less on seeing the typical tourist attractions. The weather will also be a bit cooler, which means more clothing and layering. As seen in my inspiration above, I have decided on a natural palette, while mixing in different textures and fabrics; tulle, denim, knits and silk.

Weather Forecast: Highs in the 60’s-70’s, Lows in the 40’s-50’s

As I have been thinking through my packing list, I have given myself these parameters:
1. Less is more
2. Chose a basic color scheme for interchangeable clothing
3. Options for lots of layering

My Goal: Pack for our 10 day trip with only 5 days worth of clothes
(thank goodness for washing machines!)

Rough Draft List:
3 Pants / Jeans
1 Skirt
1 Dress
5 Shirts
2 Jackets
2 Workout Outfits
4 Pairs of Shoes

If you have any packing tips for Italy, please be sure to comment below! Stay tuned, I’ll be sharing my full packing list and clothing next week!

Inspiration Board No. 5 : Valentine’s Day

February 13, 2015

If you know me, you know that I do not do pink. You will not find pink in my house or in my closet, but that doesn’t mean I have not written it off completely. While I would never chose pink for myself, I will always chose pink for Valentine’s day. There is something about the warm color tones that speak of great love and romance. While, you probably won’t see another inspiration board from me with this color scheme, I actually loved pulling this board together.

As my sweet husband always says, “Valentine’s day should be celebrated everyday.” So don’t just use this holiday to tell someone you love them. Tell them each and every day! We are headed to the mountains to enjoy a long weekend with a two other married couples! I am excited for no internet connection, snuggling by the fire and hiking. I’m crossing my fingers for snow! I hope you enjoy your weekend with those you love, whether it’s your husband, best friend or family! Happy Valentine’s Day!

Inspiration Board No. 4 : Under the Oaks

January 16, 2015

Happy Friday! I am so excited to begin sharing our wedding planning process with you; how and why we chose our vendors, details about our ceremony and much, much more! If you have any questions or topics you are interested in, please comment below! I know that wedding planning can be stressful at times, and I would love to encourage you, give you a recommendation or remind you of what matters most: your marriage!

Whether you are getting married on the beach or in a ballroom, having a consistent vision for your wedding day will help you make decisions, keep you on track and communicate your vision to your vendors. While Pinterest is the best medium to put together inspiration, I will encourage you to put a deadline on yourself. Pinterest and wedding ideas will always continue to evolve, so let me give you a hard piece of advice: After gathering inspiration that you feel confident about, stop looking at Pinterest.

Without further ado, here is the inspiration board for our Under the Oaks, Charleston wedding!

Inspiration Board No. 3 : Plaid Christmas

December 17, 2014

For the love of plaid, I love plaid. Whether its a cozy blanket, a beautifully wrapped Christmas gift, or a blanket scarf, I have loved incorporating plaid into my Christmas decor and style this season! It’s classic, yet fun depending on the pattern and colors, and can be used as an accent or anchor piece.
