Is it crazy to say that Spring feels almost more like a fresh start than the beginning of the year? As I sit outside and watch the foliage begin to bloom, our seedlings sprout up through the soil and the sun become warmer, it reminds me that new opportunities to begin again are right in front of me. Regardless what I have or haven’t gotten done in the past months, I can begin again. And so can you!
I struggle in finding my identity in my to-do list and I find myself evaluating my day based on what I got done and what I didn’t. Today I’m choosing to put my hope in the will of God, not in what I accomplish or get done. “Now listen, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.” Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. Instead, you ought to say, “If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that.” (James 4: 13-15)
