And just like that… it was hot.
I’m still blown away that last week I could see my breath while running and this week I was wearing shorts and tank tops, but then again living in North Carolina, I’m not surprised. I struggled a little this week trying to acclimate to the weather, and I never thought I would say this but I think I would almost rather run in the cold. I know, I’m just as shocked as you! With daylight savings this past weekend, I know I’ll need to begin running earlier in the morning or later in the evening so I’m not dying of hot temperatures and humidity (yuck!)
This weekend I was at the beach with some of my best friends and I got to run by the water, which is now officially my favorite place to run. My best friend, Mary Courtney is training for a half marathon in April and we got to run together – I did three miles and she kept going and did another 3 (go girl!) It was so fun to run with a friend, to chat during our run (never thought I would be able to do that) and cheer each other on. We also got to do some yoga together by the water which was super relaxing!
All in all, this was a really great recovery week! I’m anxious to begin building again next week but continuing to trust that my body is capable of more than I can imagine.
