From the beginning of our planning, Jamie and I knew that we wanted to have a sit down, al fresco reception dinner that allowed our guests to enjoy a delicious meal and with sweet conversation. We chose to have six long tables close together and one head table which sat our bridal party and immediate family. This made our 200 guest wedding feel intimate. Our guests dined on a fresh summer salad and the best Southern surf and turf from Cru Catering to tie in our wedding design of combining the oaks and water. The main course was paired with a colorful succotash and mashed potatoes. Cru Catering and Twenty-Six Divine did an outstanding job designing and preparing the menu for our wedding. They combined our love of Southern Comfort food and classic taste perfectly, while keeping it elegant enough for our wedding feast.  WeddingDinnerMenu nancyray-caljamwed-4009 cake By far, the best day of wedding planning is the tasting day! We had the best time in Charleston taste testing for our wedding cake and food. Our vendors stuffed us full of delicious food and made it really hard for us to make a final decision, because everything was so delicious! If you are in Charleston, be sure to eat at Cru Cafe (Cru Catering’s Restaurant) and Twenty Six Divine. You won’t be disappointed!

I really love food, but with all the other decisions that needed to be made during our wedding planning, food was not something that I felt that I needed to control. I trusted that no matter what we chose, Cru Catering and Twenty Six Divine would create something delectable for our guests to enjoy. Jamie and my Dad made all the final food decisions and I was so happy with their decisions. The salad was light and delicious, and the entree was the perfect, colorful combination of steak and fish.

I love the combination of fruit and dark chocolate, so when we tried Twenty Six Divine‘s chocolate fudge cake with dark chocolate mousse filling, I knew we had to have it paired with a fresh, summery strawberries. We also decided to offer a vanilla option for our guests who might not like chocolate (they’re crazy!). I’m so appreciate of Jenn and the way that she customized and personally worked with us to get exactly what we wanted. Not only did our cake taste delicious, but the design was equally gorgeous and matched perfectly with our vision. I’m drooling just thinking about eating this cake again for our first anniversary in only a month!
