Under the Oaks: His Attire

March 11, 2015

nancyray-caljamwed-3227 I have always loved the clean and classic look of a tuxedo next to a wedding gown, so when Jamie told me that he wanted to wear a tuxedo, I was jumping for joy! While we both love tuxedos, it’s hard to find a rental that seems to fit correctly and we knew that it would be too much to ask the groomsmen to buy their own tuxedos. After much research and trying on, we decided that Jamie would buy his own (I really wanted him to have a well fitted tux) and the groomsmen would rent from Jos. A. Bank. With a couple of them living outside of Raleigh, it was a great option for them to be able to go to their local Jos. A. Bank to get their measurements done, without having to come back to Raleigh. Overall, we were very happy with the way that they looked!

As for the details, we originally decided to design a custom black and white patterned bow tie for Jamie, so he would look different from his groomsmen, but we quickly realized it was more work than we had time for (if you are interested in this idea, check out Spoonflower.) Instead, we decided to keep their look classic with a crisp white button down, traditional black bow ties, cummerbund, and button covers. To finish off their look, Jamie wanted each of them to have something unique, so he chose to gift them monogrammed suspenders.

They looked quite dapper, if you ask me!

    Callie,

I love these tuxedos. Do you know the exact style that they were called? My fiance needs to buy/rent for himself and his groomsmen. They are perfect! Also, what style were the suspenders?

    Thank you so much!
